So many of us are task oriented and busy (particularly at this time of year) getting all our ducks in a row for our events … tents, tables, chairs, vendors, security systems, sound systems … the list can go on and on.  All of a sudden it’s STOP!

At first, it’s a shock as you scramble to figure out what you can and can’t do.  (Mostly can’t!)  So stop (this time not in caps!) and take time to step back, look at what you are doing and see if there is a better way–or if you have other options that will have value.

And, worry about others.  I say that because I have been worried about my New Jersey wineries that participate in my wine festivals.  They are wonderful people and these festivals are one of the ways they make a living!  Considering my spring festivals have all been moved to the fall I thought. “What can I do to help them?”  So, I am launching the Virtual NJ Wines Festival!  It gives them exposure … sales … opportunities to get out to their potential audience in a new and unique way.

Will it work?  I have absolutely no idea but … trite but true:  Nothing ventured, nothing gained.  And that’s the moral to this story … step back, look at what you do with different eyes, try something new, see what happens!

Take time to listen, breathe deeply and stay calm!
