Recognizing that this day celebrates “Honest Abe” I thought it would be a good day to discuss honesty.

This is so important no matter what you are doing.

When discussing an event don’t exaggerate on the number of attendees!

Don’t exaggerate on the media coverage for sponsors for an event!

Don’t exaggerate about the weather!

Why?

You will be found out!  And, when you are developing relationships … whether with vendors, attendees or sponsors … if you are always honest, if something DOES go wrong, they can’t be disappointed … you told the truth!

And, just FYI?  Error of Omission is a form of dishonesty.  It is easier to tell the truth … you don’t have to wonder what you said and you have developed a relationship that has a solid foundation.
