Middletown, NJ – The luscious smell of chocolate has delighted visitors to Suzis Sweet Shoppe since 1998. Owned and operated by Susan and Stan Hordych, the store is located at 1100 Highway 35, Village Mall plaza, Middletown. Suzis offers more than 100 varieties of delicious handmade confections.
Susan and Stan have over 20 years of experience hand dipping chocolates and making candy, a passion evident in every bite. Susan started working at a candy store in high school, where she met her husband, who worked making centers. Ten years after getting married and working in an office, Susan realized her dream and opened Suzis Sweet Shoppe.
Their chocolates are made fresh daily in the store using time-honored recipes, old world craftsmanship and the highest quality, freshest ingredients. In fact, fresh strawberries are dipped every day. Customers visiting the shop can watch through a viewing window at the back of the store as chocolates are being made. Every aspect of preparation is carefully monitored, from measuring and mixing of ingredients to hand-crafting of chocolates and packaging.
Suzis offers all kinds of delightful indulgences. Their best selling product is hand-dipped gourmet pretzels, which are available in 10 different varieties. Customers can also choose from over 19 flavors (including seasonal varieties) of some of the richest, creamiest fudge you can buy; fancy truffles in an assortment of tempting flavors and creamy milk and rich dark hand dipped chocolates. There is also a variety of other candies and brittles to satisfy those non-chocolate cravings.
Candy, and especially chocolate, makes an easy and delicious option to use as gifts and favors for all kinds of events. Any candy in the store can be used for favors and Suzis offers a myriad of customized packaging options, from imprinted ribbons, boxes and cellophane bags in a variety of sizes to custom candy bar wrapper. Gift baskets are another easy and delicious idea, and themed baskets are even simpler when you consider Suzis has over 600 chocolate molds to celebrate all kinds of events and holidays. Susan and Stans customer service philosophy is to give customers more than they ask for and to make sure their product is the best it can be. This July, Suzis Sweet Shoppe will close for one week in order to renovate the store. The remodeled store will have a country feel, with new flooring, attractive new cabinets and freshly painted walls in a new color scheme.
