The store will offer trendy and classic clothing and accessories for teens and women sizes 0 28. Storeowner Christine McAlary is very excited to be opening her first retail consignment boutique. She says, Ive always loved shopping resale. Its exciting to find unique things that arent in the retail chain stores, plus you always get a great bargain! But Ive become dissatisfied with some of the consignment stores; they just didn’t have the atmosphere or the selection I was looking for.’ She continues, ‘Many of the store layouts were confusing, and merchandise didnt seem to be in any particular order, which makes it hard to find what you want. So I decided to follow my dream and open Back on the Racks, which will have the feel of a chic boutique, but with the bargain prices of resale.”
In anticipation of the store’s grand opening, Ms. McAlary is accepting brand name Spring and Summer clothing and accessories that are current in style (2 years old or less) and in like-new condition. Clothes should be on hangers, clean and pressed. Accessories can include shoes, handbags, costume jewelry and outerwear. Items will be accepted on consignment for 90 days; any that remain after the 90 days can either be reclaimed by the owner or will be donated to charity. Until the store is open, customers will need to call 732-614-4742 to arrange an appointment; once the store opens no appointment will be necessary. Back On The Racks is also offering a unique alternative to consignment they will purchase your items for cash up front, instead of customers waiting to see if they sell. Says Ms. McAlary, This gives customers who are looking for cash right away an alternative. Well give them 25% of our selling price for the item. Most consignment stores dont offer that option.
