The hit 90s TV series “Seinfeld” made the phrase “No soup for you!” a part of our cultural language, but on Feb. 5, you won’t need to worry about that. There will be plenty of soup!
The Sunrise Optimist Club of Freehold will once again hold its popular Super Bowl Sunday event – cheekily and aptly titled “Souper Bowl Sunday” from 1 to 4 p.m.
The annual event celebrates our country’s beloved sports spectacle, the Super Bowl, while bringing an assortment of homemade chilis and , you guessed it, soups!
This year’s Souper Bowl Sunday will take place at the Freehold YMCA (479 East Freehold Rd.) for a donation of $6 per quart or four quarts for $20.
All funds raised will go to benefit youth activities in the community, which include the Oratorical Contest, Camp Quality, scholarships and more.
