The Downtown West Orange Alliance has announced the winner of its most recent 2nd Annual Restaurant Week contest, which was held during the week of March 11 through March 17.

Allison Caprio, a resident of West Orange, was randomly selected from amongst the entries, which asked participants to dine at one of the participating West Orange Restaurant Week locations during the week of the event, and then send a photo of the receipt to DWOA.

Caprio was thrilled to have been chosen as the winner of the contest, exclaiming that she loves her town and supporting local businesses.

The born-and-raised West Orange resident will take home restaurant gift certificate totally $250.00.

Caprio, her husband Eddie and their two children were dining at OAK Barrel Pub, one of the restaurants featured in the 2nd Annual Restaurant Week, on the original kickoff date of March 11, after learning about the weeklong annual event through the Downtown West Orange Alliance.

A longtime fan of OAK Barrel, Caprio calls it her Cheers, referencing the iconic 80s TV show with Ted Danson and Rhea Perlman.

Staff is always so accommodating and friendly! You truly feel at home. I cant wait to use my gift certificate to support our other wonderful restaurants in town! she said.

Residents of West Orange and visitors from surrounding areas came out to enjoy Downtown West Oranges most recent Restaurant Week, with 23 of the towns most popular dining establishments being featured.  Next years Restaurant Week will be March 10-17; watch for news about participating restaurants and plan to have a week of dining joy next year.
