The Sunrise Optimist Club of Freehold, along with The Sunrise Optimist Foundation, will present A Night of Comedy, starring a number of New York area comedians, on January 20, 2017, it has been announced today.

The comedy night will take place at the Freehold Senior Center (116 Jackson Mills Rd.) at 8 p.m., with doors opening at 7 p.m.

Three prominent acts will perform during the not-to-miss comedy night, including the nights headliner Tom Daddario, the feature act John Clark and the emcee Bobby Gaines.

Daddario has performed in and around the New York tri-state area for nearly 20 years, bringing a refreshing energy to the stage with a hilariously brilliant twist on his family, friends and relationships. Daddario has performed at venerable venues from Stand Up New York to Dangerfields to Gotham Comedy Club, Carolines and Broadway comedy club.

Clark has been making people laugh his entire life, from the time he left the Golden State of California for New York City, where he kicked off his career in stand-up comedy.

Gaines, a New Jersey native, is a self-described old school comic with new school sensibilities, making his unique brand of comedic appeal relatable to all audiences.

Our Optimist Clubs number one priority is helping the children in our community, said Club President Shari Scaramuzzo. Fundraisers such as this one are essential to putting all of our plans into action. With this fundraiser, we hope to be able to bring more projects to the children of the community who need it most.

Tickets to attend are $25 per person, which can be purchased at the door or by mailing a check to Sunrise Optimist, PO Box 351, Adelphia, NJ 07710. Coffee and dessert are included. Attendees are asked to bring their own beverages and snacks. There will be a tricky tray and 50/50 at the event.
Proceeds raised will go to benefit programs sponsored by the Optimist Club, which include the Oratorical Contest, Camp Quality, Scholarships and more.
